Tess is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with additional training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. She has over ten years of experience working with infants, children, young people, adults and their families.
Tess has worked in a range of areas including the Royal Children’s Hospital, therapeutic trauma services and mental health, both locally and in the UK. As well as working in private practice, Tess is currently employed in a senior role at a public child and adolescent mental health service.
Tess is skilled at assessment and treatment of common mental health difficulties experienced by infants and their parents, children, adolescents and young adults. She is also passionate about providing longer term psychotherapy for complex presentations related to childhood trauma, attachment difficulties and grief and loss.
In her practice, Tess is focused on how these experiences affect development, well-being and family relationships. Clinically, Tess draws Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Dyadic play-based approaches, Cognitive Behavioural interventions, parenting support and family therapy work, to guide her practice. Recently Tess has trained in EMDR therapy.
Tess is also able to offer clinical supervision to social workers and consultation to community services.
